Purple Heart

During the book I sat there and thought about if the character is worthy of praise or criticism. I think the main character Matt should be praised during the book. I think that Matt should be praised because he was someone who had fought in Iraq and was wounded in action. He was set to the hospital after his Sistine injuries to his head where he was unable to remember things that had happen to him and his fellow brothers that were fighting next to him. People that serve in Iraq or Afghanistan I look highly upon because I thank them for keeping our country safe and giving us all this freedom. In the book Matt looks at himself as he kinda let himself down because he lost some of his fellow soldiers and doesn’t remember what happened. Matt remembers waking up and there’s a man standing over him. I thought Matt was praised highly when he revised the Purple Heart for his bravery. Matt didn’t look at himself as a hero but thought that everyone that was in his squad should get the same award as him also. Matt deserved the praise he got from the author and from the readers of the book because it shows that some people can go into war and have no fear about it and wants to get back out into the streets to fight with the men in their units. I praise Matt highly for fighting in the war and I believe that he had earned that award with respect!
